Welcome to work!

Welcome to work with us!

We are glad that you are joining our group of professionals at RTK-Henkilöstöpalvelu.

RTK-Henkilöstöpalvelu is a 100% Finnish company providing HR services and staff leasing. We are part of Contineo, a financially sound corporate group, which also includes our fellow subsidiary RTK-Palvelu Oy, and Rauman Lukko Oy.

The main owner of the Contineo Group is the Raumalaiskiekkoilun Tuki association. The support of the association fosters versatile ice hockey and winter sport activities in the Rauma economic area. This support for ice hockey is visible in the daily lives of families with children as low-threshold recreational activities, small participation fees, player paths towards a professional career in ice hockey and related success and, above all, the joy of exercise. Our company is also influential in supporting various local sports clubs and teams and associations across Finland.

Nationally, we employ around 400 temporary workers, and we also wish to contribute to your working life encounters – genuinely, with care and proficiency.

We have compiled all the important information you need to know about your employment relationship on this page. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us!

Sickness absence and illness

Please remember that you may only be absent from work if you have an acceptable reason or a valid medical certificate or by agreeing about this in advance with your supervisor or RTK-Henkilöstöpalvelu (e.g. an unpaid leave).

If you have fallen ill, please always immediately inform your supervisor at the user enterprise and your contact person at RTK-Henkilöstöpalvelu by telephone.  The contact person at RTK-Henkilöstöpalvelu assesses employees’ need for a sickness leave on a case-by-case basis based on the employee’s notification or instructs the employee to seek occupational health services.

If you neglect to notify your supervisor and contact person about your sickness, your absence may be considered an unauthorised absence, for which no salary is paid.

Our national occupational health service provider is Terveystalo. Please note that you will be entitled to receiving statutory occupational health care for the first four months of your employment relationship. This means that if you fall ill, you must seek public healthcare services. In case of a workplace accident, you may seek the services of our occupational health care partner.

Once the employment relationship has lasted four months, you will gain access to extended occupational health care services and are entitled to medical care provided by the Terveystalo occupational health care services.

Sick leave

Your supervisor at RTK-Henkilöstöpalvelu can grant you a right to a sick leave that has the duration of between 1 and 3 days, or the supervisor may guide you to contact occupational health services.

You must submit a medical certificate for a sick leave you have received from health care provider for your supervisor at RTK-Henkilöstöpalvelu.

Sick leave notification

As an employee, you are personally responsible for reporting the duration of the sick leave granted to you for your supervisor at the user enterprise and your contact person at RTK-Henkilöstöpalvelu.

You must submit the medical certificate for a sick leave you have received from occupational or public health care for your supervisor at RTK-Henkilöstöpalvelu.

Medical certificate for a sick leave

During the sick leave, your salary will be paid according to the collective agreement for employees in your sector. In order to receive the payment, you must always provide an appropriate medical certificate for a sick leave and a notification of absence. You must submit the medical certificate to RTK-Henkilöstöpalvelu without delay.

If your disease or symptom does not require for you to see a doctor, you must book an appointment with a nurse. Our occupational health partner will charge the price of an uncancelled appointment from the employee in full.

A self-reported sick leave is not granted retroactively and it does not apply to weekends or public holidays. For weekend and public holiday shifts, if your local occupational health centre is not open during this time, you need to provide your employer with a medical certificate for a sickness leave granted by e.g. a public health centre.

Occupational health services, units and booking appointments

Our national occupational health care service provider is Terveystalo. Please note that you are entitled to receiving statutory occupational health care for the first four months of your employment relationship.

Occupational safety and health and supporting work ability

Occupational safety and health

We all play a part in ensuring occupational safety and health.

Always use the personal protective equipment given to you, act according to the instructions you have been given, exercise caution when working, and ask for advice whenever necessary. The user enterprise is always responsible for orienting employees with the practices at the place of work and any possible deviations to occupational safety and health.

You may also report any close-calls and remarks you have made related to occupational safety in the handy turvallinenyritys.fi service  by Fennia. You will get a password to the service during your job orientation or on request from your supervisor at RTK-Henkilöstöpalvelu.

Occupational accident

If you have an accident at work, please immediately contact your local RTK-Henkilöstöpalvelu office. We have taken out a statutory accident insurance policy at Fennia. Report any close-calls to both the user enterprise and your contact person at RTK-Henkilöstöpalvelu.

You must always report the incident to your contact person even if it has not led to a direct injury or sickness absence.

Supporting work ability

An Early Support model has been prepared for RTK-Henkilöstöpalvelu. The model involves making arrangements on the management of work ability, related monitoring and the practices of early support.

Sickness absences are tracked in accordance with the model. If certain limits set for the monitoring are exceeded, your supervisor at RTK-Henkilöstöpalvelu will discuss your absences with you.

Compensatory work model

If an employee is not fully unable to work due to an illness or a disability, they can be temporarily assigned to another task or may perform a lighter version of their work tasks.

Payment of salaries and holiday practices

Payment of salaries

Salaries are paid in accordance with an agreed schedule for the payment of salaries, which you have been informed about as part of the job orientation. Employees are responsible for reporting their working hours to RTK-Henkilöstöpalvelu carefully and in good time using the LikeIt system (or some other agreed practice).

If an employee reports their working hours too late, they must inform their contact person at RTK-Henkilöstöpalvelu without delay so that this can be taken into account in connection with the payment of the employee’s next salary.

For instructions on recording your working hours in the LikeIt system, see the front page of the LikeIt website.  You can also get the instructions from your supervisor if needed.

RTK-Henkilöstöpalvelu uses an electronic payroll system.

Electronic payslips

E-salary is a service that the employer uses to submit electronic payslips to employees, enabling them to view their payslips via their personal online bank account.

You can use the online salary service to securely examine and browse your payslip whenever you like as long as you have an internet access.  The payslips are also archived for employees in the online salary system for 7 years.  The online service makes the payslips available for the employees much more quickly compared to the traditional payslip sent by mail.

You can use the online payslip service with the online banking services of Danske Bank, OP Pohjola Group, local Osuuspankki units, Aktia, Säästöpankki, OmaSP, Handelsbanken, Nordea, Ålandsbanken and S-Pankki.

Only if an employee does not have a personal online banking ID, the payslip is sent to the employee’s home address by mail.   In this case, the employee must submit a request for this for their supervisor /payroll services at RTK-Henkilöstöpalvelu, detailing why their payslip should be provided to them by mail.

INSTRUCTIONS: REGISTRATION IN THE ONLINE PAYSLIP SERVICE

See the below table for information about how to activate the online payslip service in different banks. The links are already provided in the online banking services.

Go to your online banking service and select the links detailed below to access the online payslip service.

Tax card

You must submit your tax card to the payroll services in good time, or your salary will be subject to a 60-per-cent withholding tax. You can give your tax card to your supervisor at RTK-Henkilöstöpalvelu or submit it straight to the payroll services.

You can get a handy electronic tax card from the MyTax service.

Please make sure that you provide us with the tax card itself, not just the decision section.

The employee is responsible for making sure that the income limits and tax rate set in the card are high enough. Also see the MyTax service for instructions on ordering a tax card and requesting a revised tax card.

Annual holidays and leaves

Days of holiday are accrued normally according to the Annual Holidays Act and the collective agreement followed in your employment agreement (the holiday credit year 1 April–31 March).

Employees are entitled to take a holiday during the normal holiday season (2 May–30 September) if they have accrued days of holidays and are working under a valid employment agreement.  You must always make arrangements on your holiday in good time with the user enterprise and inform RTK-Henkilöstöpalvelu about when your holiday will take place.

Employees are not entitled to take holidays outside the holiday season. Any accrued holidays are paid to the employee at the expiry of the employment relationship if the employee has not been able to take the holidays in accordance with the Annual Holidays Act and the valid collective agreement.

You must agree on the holidays or other leaves together with the user enterprise and notify RTK-Henkilöstöpalvelu of them. The holidays and leaves are recorded in the LikeIt system based on a separate set of instructions (link to the LikeIt notification that provides instructions on using the system).

Trade union membership fees

If you wish that your trade union membership fee is directly collected from your salary, submit a trade union membership fee collection agreement to us. Make sure you have filled out your information in the agreement and have signed it. Please note that the collection of the membership fees can start at the earliest on the date you as the employee have signed the form and authorised the collection, not retroactively for your previous salaries.

You can find the collection agreement form on your trade union’s website.

For more information about trade unions, see the SAK website.

At the end of your employment relationship

Resignation and termination

If you resign from your job, you must always hand in your notice in writing.

As a rule, our employment agreements are mixed contracts (fixed-term employment relationship with a mutual right of termination).  The period of notice is determined by the Employment Contracts Act and the valid collective agreement unless otherwise agreed with RTK-Henkilöstöpalvelu and the user enterprise.

When an employer has to terminate an employee’s employment agreement, the co-operation procedures in accordance with the Employment Contracts Act and the valid collective agreement shall apply.

Final settlement

When your employment relationship ends, final settlement is paid on the normal date of salary payment following the end date of your employment relationship. The final settlement includes paying any due holiday compensation, holiday bonuses or other earned income.

Certificate of employment

You will receive a certificate of employment after the final payment of salary. As a rule, the certificate is submitted in an electronic format. A certificate of employment is always provided by RTK-Henkilöstöpalvelu, not the user enterprise.

If you wish that your certificate of employment includes an assessment of your work performance, please contact your contact person at RTK-Henkilöstöpalvelu in good time before the final payment of salary.

Pay statement

As its name indicates, a pay statement serves as proof of your earned income. You need a pay statement for purposes such as for the payment of unemployment security if you are laid off or lose your job.

You can ask for a pay statement by contacting the payroll services or your contact person at RTK-Henkilöstöpalvelu.
